Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV)

Sound Barrier Membrane

Mass Loaded Vinyl is a high-density limp-mass barrier used to reduce airborne sound transmission through walls, floors and ceilings.

It delivers the blocking performance of a much heavier construction in only 2–3 mm, improving sound transmission loss without sacrificing valuable floor area. It is commonly combined with absorptive panels or boards to form a complete soundproofing build-up.

Features

High density limp-mass barrier — blocks airborne sound

Only 2–3 mm thick, saves space

Lead-free and non-reinforced or reinforced options

Suitable for new build and retrofit

Can be used to lag pipes and ducts

Flexible and easy to cut on site

Applications

Partition walls, floors and ceilings, ductwork and pipe lagging, mechanical enclosures, home theatres, studios, and any retrofit where added sound insulation is required without thickening the structure.
